| Barramundi are a big totem in Pormpuraaw. They own the waterways & are found in abundance. One of the reasons we moved to this community was because we heard the Barra fishing was amazing! They are a beautiful fish and taste delicious, but they're also fun to fish because they put up a great fight, they're known for spitting out the lure by shaking their head so you can't get too excited until you've got him safely in your hands. We love Barra here and the artists love painting them and making ghost-nets sculptures. |
