| Black Cockatoos are large birds that live inland of Pormpuraaw. Sometimes we see them on the coast but mostly they are inland. They always fly in a flock of around 12 birds. Sometimes you see them in the hundreds but this is rare. They are an important totem for Owokeran family, the Wik Waya people, from Aurukun where I was born. |
