The rainbow lorikeet is my totem. In my Kugu language we call the rainbow lorikeet 'minha pimba'. There are lots of them here after the wet season. They are so colourful and bright. The rainbow gives them their colours. Lorikeets like to eat and play with the pretty gumnuts in the eucalyptus tree. When I see my totem I feel good inside and know my ancestor is there looking after me. |
