| Sometime crocodiles kill our people usually attacking them on a river bank or waterhole. When someone is killed in this way they come back as a spirit. The spirit looks like a crocodile with a crocodile tail and red eyes. The spirit haunts the village making lots noise or knocking down humpies while people are trying to sleep. Usually the community has to abandon their campsite and find a new one to get away from the spirit. My grandfather told me this story. He remembered seeing such spirits. |
