Bush Tucker is a word we use for bush food. We used to collect our food in dilly bags. A good dilly bag would take a women a month or more to make. Making dilly bags take special skills and careful craft. There is a lot to eat out there. We still prefer bush food to food we get in the shops. In them we would carry all our food: fish, clams, various sea shelled animals, fish, fruit, nuts, yams and other tubers. We were much healthier eating that food then all the junk food we eat now. |
