| The story is about our spiritual leaders. When someone got sick they would come visit them and they would heal them. They would use smoke from leaves, sing healing song lines chasing evil spirits or poisons out of the sick person. The healer would put his rub his hands in his under arms. This would but his scent on them and then and then he would rub his hands on the sick persons head and chest sometimes the whole body. Most of the sickness came from Sorcery. A sorcerer or witch doctor would curse someone because they had done something wrong or payback on their relative. It was a way of punishing people for doing wrong to your family. A sorcerer could use their powers for bad sorcerers or for good sorcery. Today we still have plenty of sorcerers around. They do not talk about it. They keep it quiet. When someone gets sick we try to find out who the sorcerer was. But we can not find them or prove it was them. |
