| "Pormpuraaw Thoonth Iwal" is my Wik Mungkan language word for community camp dogs. Every family here has many dogs. There are probably more dogs living here than people. We all have them. They are like family to us. We use them for hunting pigs. Our old people used them for hunting wallaby. They would sleep next to them and sharing body heat to stay warm. Our dogs are part of us. |
