Ngat Purrchin is our Thaayorre word for the queenfish. This is a good fish that we like to catch and eat. We usually catch him at the river mouth in the salt water but sometimes we catch him up river where the salt and fresh water meet. This fish is one of my totems. A totem is an ancestor. It connects us to country. |
