Dilly bags have always been important to our people. My old people used to carry everything they needed in them. They would be around the neck or carried on the back with head band. A good dilly bag would take weeks to make. We had no loom we did it all by eye. Yams are an important traditional food. It can take hours to dig them out of the ground as it is all done by hand. They are delicious and usually baked in the coals of a fire. |
