My mono print titled “Flying Fox” tells this story. The rainbow serpent is like our creator. The rainbow serpent travels to the mangroves under water and near a creek he spits out the flying foxes. During the day the foxes sleep. During the night they fly out looking to find fruit and nectar from flowers growing on trees. Before we used to hunt them with spears and later guns for cooking and eating. Now days it is harder to get them. We still see streams flying across in countless numbers. |
