Galah are beautiful pink and grey birds that live everywhere in Australia including Pormpuraaw. We mostly see them during and after the wet season. I guess the dry season is too hard for them. Not enough food. They seem to go somewhere else. They are one of my totems. Totems are our ancestors and how we connect to country and our ancestors. When we die we become our totems. Seeing a group of Galahs brings a smile to my face. My ancestors are here with me. |
