Long turtles are an important food source for our people. We usually hunt them with spear in the wet season. In the dry season we probe down in the mud with a digginging stick till we hit their shell. Then we know where to dig. We cook then in their shell on the hot coals of a fire; beautiful meat. We love bush food. We are part of the land and the land and our animal totems. |
