Wet season usually comes in December or January and can last 5 or 6 months. Before the rains come the land is dry and nothing is growing. The wet season brings life giving rain to us. Plants grow so quickly you can see them grow. Wetlands fill with water from rain and tide. Rivers get so swollen with water that we can close our roads and we become an island. Fish swim inland following the flooded areas. We welcome the wet season. |
