| Dilly bags mean a lot to my people. In the old days only a skilled weaver could make one. A good bag could take 3 weeks or more to weave by hand with no loom. Most women carried a dilly bag. They used them to carry yams and bush tucker. This painting reminds me of my mother sitting in the shade of the trees amongst the flowers making her dilly bags. |
