| This story takes place in the Melaman country to the south of Pormpuraaw. An old man and an old woman used to own two dogs. One of the dogs was toothless but the other was fierce. This mysterious dog was enormous, as big as a horse. The old woman would stay in the camp but the old man would roam afar and take the fierce dog with him The dog would run ahead, looking for the tracks of men, The dog did indeed catch men. He would devour the men all around the area. |
