This land is thick with grasslands, salt pans. These lands are two or three kilometres inland from the coast. This is where the saltwater and freshwater meet. Tidal creeks meander through a flat landscape. The clay soils dry out and crack during the dry seasons to form small mounds and depression hence the term Melon Hole. These areas are rich in edible plants and animals. |
