This painting shows my grandmother's country which is north Holroyd about 2.5hrs from Pormpuraaw. There is an abundance of fish and foods that we can cook and eat from the fire. We love going there to camp. I also included a brown falcon, these are also known as firehawks because they intentionally spread fire. They are known to hang around fires and swoop down to collect a burning stick and drop it elsewhere to create more fire and smoke out prey. |
