My dad was a Kugu Muminh man and he taught us to speak in our language and taught us about possums. They are our totems through his blood line "Arkoowokerum". "Minha Kulan"is the Kugu word for possum. During the old days we hunted and ate possums. Nowadays not so much. They live on inland ridges. We become our totems when we die. |
