| Sulphur- Crested Cockatoos are a big totem for Pormpuraaw people. Mostly we see cockatellas here. They are smaller and do not have the crown of feathers. We often see them together hanging out, feeding. They are family. They often gather in a tree stripping it of leaves and twigs. They make a lot of noise and gather by the hundreds. Pormpuraaw is their home, living amongst us. |
