| Sea turtles are called 'Puk Lo'orrum' in my Kugu Language. These are big totem animals for us. We did not hunt them for food so much but definitely hunted their eggs. We celebrate this amazing animal in song and dance. One story tells how a large sea turtle wrestles with lightning to keep cyclones out at sea, away from land where they can do damage to communities. |
