Seven Sisters - Limited edition etching

This artwork reflects the story of the Jellyfish and a family of sisters that help protect the area. We are not allowed to take tea-tree bark from any of the trees in the area except from one big old tree. We are not allowed to cut wood for spears from the big tree. If people do not follow these rules than our waters will fill with many jellyfish, making it bad for fishing. It is like a curse being put on the water and people. We would have to move from the area up river until the jellyfish go away. In this artwork there are seven sisters that are protecting the tea-tree and keeping the jellyfish away. I have created this work with my family; my three nieces Alma, Marlene and Thelma. We enjoy creating artwork together and sharing our stories.
