| Taipans are common in Pormpuraaw. They like to live and hunt in the mud cracks in our salt pans. But you can find them anywhere. I have seen them in my garden next to the house. They are tan coloured. They can look like a branch on the ground. They are hard to see unless they move. They are one of the deadliest snakes in the world. Our people are terrified of them. |
